I grew up in Kailua, Hawaii and graduated from Punahou School in Honolulu, HI in 1988. I also lived in Kenya and Chile. During High School, I was on the Track team, Cross-Country team and raced outrigger canoes and participated in tri-anthalons. I was a member of the marching band and played the trumpet, as well as guitar, piano and ukulele. I also starred in two student short films.
I went to U.C. Berkeley undergrad and majored in US History, graduating in 1994. During which I joined the Crew team and played in pick-up basketball games. I worked in administrative services at an international business school in San Francisco assisting students studying abroad, primarily from France.
After Berkeley, I worked for the Multiple Listing Service in Santa Rosa, CA where I helped implement new software platforms and taught courses for real estate professionals. I then worked for a software start-up providing technical support to communication and transportation companies and municipalities resolving issues and implementing fleet management systems on Oracle servers. I also played league pool and intramural soccer.
I attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, CA and graduated in 2000 with a concentration in Intellectual Property. During this time I worked as a law clerk for a personal injury law practice. After graduation, I worked as a paralegal at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in San Francisco while studying to pass the bar in 2001. I am admitted to practice in California State court and in Federal Court for the Northern District of California.
From 2001 to 2003 I worked for Bishop, Barry, Howe, Haney & Ryder in Insurance Defense. I embarked on a sole proprietorship in 2003. I also worked in general Civil Litigation in Walnut Creek and Danville, CA. Currently I am Of Counsel for a law firm in Pt. Richmond, CA.
I bring to my law practice a wide breadth of knowledge with a focus on Landlord/Tenant disputes including cities with Rent Control/Just Cause; Restraining Orders; Personal Injury and General Civil Litigation. In my personal life I am an avid cook and gardener, and am a guardian with my wife to our beloved dog, Lola.
